Project 4oarsome!

This post is on the request of Nick Dennison - who is a member of Team 4Oarsome.

This is a group of 4 guys who are taking part in the 2009 Woodvale Transatlantic Rowing Challenge- which is a rowing competition. The row takes approximately 50 days across 3000 miles of the Atlantic from the Canary Islands to Antigua in the Caribbean.

They are racing in order to raise money for two great Charities, Help for Heros and CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young). Their site 4oarsome shows the map of the journey.

According to Nick, "We shall row in pairs two hours on, two off for 50 days braving high seas, salt sores and monster wildlife; aiming to be the first crew across the line in Antigua. We shall drink desalinated water and require 9000 calories of food each per day which shall be made up from dehydrated ration packs and high calorie snacks."

The Crew consists of James Scott: Dentist, Nick Dennison: Doctor, Ali Mcleod: Surveyor, Ed Jones: Biologist/ researcher.

They are asking for your support by becoming their "Landcrew" and supporting their charities.

Nick says "Check out our site 4oarsome for further details about the boys, the race, the boat and the charities. The site will be updated regularly to keep you all in the loop."

Inevitably there shall be a beard-growing competition for the “lost at sea look"......

The Atlantic Rowing Race will start on the 2nd December 2009.

All the best to the Crew of 4Oarsome !

Edit:- As a Promotional offer, BnB Delhi is offering free 1 night stay to members of Team 4 Oarsome!
