Jade Goody Boosts Cervical Screening

Jade Goody may have been idolized or criticized, one thing is certain that she has had a positive effect on the Cervical Screening programme and making the non- compliant womenfolk rush to their doctors to have that long forgotten cervical smear done.

I hope that Jade's very public battle against cervical cancer will encourage women to not only get themselves vaccinated but also to be more aware of the symptoms that need to be reported to their GP's.

Their have been calls to lower the official age of women who are eligible for cervical screening, Dr. Crippen says that this should not be done only because of Jade, but on evidence based medicine. Something that I agree with!
