Swine Flu - Some facts



With all the recent outcry about swine flu, it is important to remember that you can easily prevent the spread of infection by using basic common sense.

As it is a type of flu virus, the advise for flu is also true for Swine Influenza as well.

* Using tissues while coughing or sneezing and throwing them into the bin asap.

* Washing hands with plenty of soap & water

NHS direct states the following:-


Phone your GP or NHS Direct if you have recently travelled to Mexico or another affected area AND have one of the following:

* Fever of 38°C or more
* history of fever AND flu-like illness (two or more of the following symptoms: cough, runny nose, limb/joint pain, headache)
* other severe/life-threatening illness suggestive of an infectious process
