How to prepare for a Chemical Skin Peel Session

* Do not apply any cosmetics/chemicals to your skin - this includes scrubs, face masks, sunscreen lotions, bleaches and other facial products.

* Avoid going out in the sun. During a chemical skin peel session that may last for about forty minutes, a momentary burning or tingling sensation may occur. This sensation will be gone as the treatment is complete.

* However, one may experience redness/rashes or swelling depending upon the type of treatment given.

* Make sure your doctor gives you appointments for follow-up sessions, so that the after effects can be treated well.

Most dermatologists recommend a dry ice treatment called cyrotherapy. Ice is the best coolant and helps in faster healing. Cyrotherapy is usually followed by a hydrating facial to moisten and nourish your skin.
